Justices’ View of Their Role May Influence LGBTQ Bias Cases

San Antonio-based attorneys Donna McElroy and Katina Zampas, of Dykema’s Labor and Employment Practice Group, co-authored an article for Law360 titled, “Justices’ View of Their Role May Influence LGBTQ Bias Cases.”

In the article, McElroy and Zampas provide background, insight, and predictions on three cases which were argued before the U.S. Supreme Court on October 8 regarding Title VII, the federal employment law prohibiting discrimination “because of sex.” The justices will attempt to clarify whether Title VII also bars discrimination based on sexual orientation or transgender status.
