A seasoned business litigator who focuses a significant part of his practice on labor and employment matters, Michael Twomey works closely with clients to achieve pragmatic, favorable resolutions that simultaneously achieve their goals and minimize the expense and disruption of protracted disputes.

Board certified in Labor and Employment Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization, Michael has litigated all types of employment-related claims and tried cases to verdict involving discrimination, retaliation, restrictive covenants, and trade secrets. In workplace disputes and all manner of commercial litigation, Michael's courtroom acumen and formidable advocacy are reflected in a lengthy track record of successful outcomes.

Michael recognizes that workplace conflicts involve not only legal considerations but also complex interpersonal dynamics and often sensitive, emotional issues. While his matter-of-fact objectivity and thorough preparation allow him to quickly identify core issues and craft powerful and persuasive arguments, his empathetic understanding of the human element to employment disputes helps him lower the temperature, bridge gaps, and create ripe conditions for the early, efficient disposition of cases.

With practical, actionable, and reliable counsel, Michael also advises employers on day-to-day and strategic employment matters involving key personnel, competitors, and expansions into new markets. He is particularly well-versed in the issues that arise at the end of employment relationships, particularly those involving departing key employees or employee groups, with substantial experience addressing trade secret misappropriation, non-competition and non-solicitation agreements, and other anti-competitive conduct.

Michael's robust commercial litigation practice extends across a broad spectrum of business disputes, where he endeavors to protect and advance his clients' interests by addressing both the immediate and long-term implications of a particular case strategy or resolution.

The law and the facts are rightly the centerpieces of any case analysis and strategy, but understanding the parties behind those facts and what motivates or concerns them can be equally important to reaching a favorable outcome.
