Michelle Lange

Government Policy Advisor

Michelle Lange is a Government Policy Advisor in Dykema’s Lansing office. She has more than 20 years of leadership experience across Michigan state government, legislative affairs, and public-sector operations.

Michelle advises clients on navigating complex policy environments and government-facing challenges. Her work is shaped by deep experience in executive leadership, strategic planning, and public-sector modernization.

Michelle is known for guiding organizations through high-impact change. Her experience includes crisis response, cross-agency coordination, and operational continuity planning. She has also advised executive stakeholders on initiatives involving technology governance, secure operations, and emerging priorities in state government.

Before joining Dykema, Michelle served as Director of the Michigan Department of Technology, Management & Budget (DTMB). In this role, she led statewide initiatives involving technology services, procurement strategy, operational improvement, and enterprise modernization. She supported state agencies through large-scale transformation efforts and helped strengthen service delivery across Michigan’s government operations.

Earlier in her career, Michelle held senior leadership roles in both the Executive Office of Governor and the Michigan Senate. In these positions, she supported policy priorities and legislative strategy while coordinating with agency leadership and key stakeholders.

With experience serving under both Governor Rick Snyder and Governor Gretchen Whitmer, Michelle brings a bipartisan perspective and a deep understanding of government operations and policy.
