Brad Micsky possesses a comprehensive knowledge of patent law and understands the technology behind his clients' innovations. He is an accomplished advocate who is consistently successful in patent litigation as well as a seasoned business lawyer adept at maximizing the value of his clients' IP portfolios. But as indispensable as the traits are to his clients, Brad's appreciation of what they need – and what they don't – has made him a trusted contributor to their endeavors.

With a focus on patent litigation and counseling for telecommunication, semiconductor, and other technology companies, Brad brings a practical, business-minded perspective to his work to ensure the countless minutiae and nuances of patent matters do not obscure larger concerns and imperatives. His significant in-house experience and responsibilities have imbued Brad with an ability to analyze, communicate, and strategize in ways that keep clients fully informed without burdening them with extraneous or tangential issues. Combined with the results he obtains, whether in contested matters or significant transactions, these talents consistently add substantial value for his clients.

Brad works with his clients to develop effective approaches for patent litigation defense and enforcement, whether in infringement actions in federal court, before the U.S. International Trade Commission,  or inter partes reviews before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board. He advises clients on patent licensing and joint ventures, IP portfolio development, infringement & validity opinions, open-source software, and leveraging IP to further their business objectives. His experience spans a wide range of technologies, including semiconductors, mobile communications and networking, internet of things (IoT), micro-electronic devices, artificial intelligence (AI), cloud computing, video analytics, telecommunications standards, and software.

While serving as assistant general counsel for a multinational technology company, Brad acquired insights and perspectives that inform his approach to patent counseling and litigation. Responsible for worldwide intellectual property matters in a multi-billion-dollar business unit, Brad worked closely with corporate leadership on all IP issues relating to the business, supervised IP litigation, negotiated contracts and licenses, and managed a global portfolio of several hundred patents.

I've always been fascinated by new technologies and getting under the hood to really understand how things work. It is immensely rewarding to partner with clients who are on the leading edge of innovation to help them protect, market, and monetize their advancements.
